چکیده

Abstract This study was conducted to evaluate yield responses of four potato ( Solanum tuberosum L.) cultivars (‘Russet Burbank’, ‘Shepody’, ‘Gold Rush’, and ‘Russet Prospect’) soil N dynamic changes two 3-year rotations in Prince Edward Island, Canada. The were the local industry standard potato–barley Hordeum vulgare L. )–red clover Trifolium pratense rotation (PBC) an alternative potato–soybean Glycine max L.)–barley (PSB). All received 170 kg ha ? 1 input at planting without irrigation. Soil mineral content before significantly higher under PBC rotation. However, produced lower yields, suggesting possibility excessive supply from plowed-down red clover. While cultivar interaction between did not show a significant difference yield, yields all positively affected by PSB Gold Rush most (36%), followed Russet Burbank (17%) Prospect (14%) cultivars, with Shepody being least (3%) highest yielding both rotations. With three russet combined as single cultivar, increased tuber while benefit rotation, that responded more sensitively Results demonstrate adequately accounting for preceding green manure crop is required sustainable production this humid temperate region.

An evaluation of yield in "intercropping of maize and potato"

Abstract To find out how maize and potato can grow and develop in an intercropping system rather than each grown alone in a sole cropping system the following factorial experiment was performend in the frame-work of a randomized complete block three replications in the experimental farm of the faculty of agriculture, Zanjan University in year 2004. Different potato to maize ratios of (1:0), i...
